In a public speaking speech, humor can play a big role in getting and keeping a public speaking audience interested. Many of the best public speakers use humor in their speeches but do not consider themselves funny. It is not necessary to use gags to use humor in a public speaking speech. You are not expected to be a stand up comedian when you are giving a public speaking speech.
Here are some tips on how to put humor in your public speaking speech.
Develop a stockpile of stories - be on the lookout for good brief stories in newspapers, magazines and the internet. Be a careful observer of life. Also be a "watchful" listener of stories on TV or other speakers. Note the stories down. Do not rely on your memory
